Junior Girls Cricket Pathway

New to cricket or already playing? Our Junior Girls programme offers a fun, inclusive, and empowering team environment.

With support from dedicated volunteer coaches and club leaders, we focus on developing skills, confidence, and teamwork so every girl feels valued. Teams are balanced by skill and school, and we do our best to honour friend requests—fostering connection as well as competition.

Weekly training alongside our Senior Women’s teams provides inspiration and mentorship. Saturday morning games offer a fun, structured space to learn, grow, and shine.

This page is designed to give U13 players, coaches, team managers, and parents a clear overview of how the format and structure works.

Grade Placement

Players are placed in grades based on their age as of 1 April each year. The grade assigned at the start of the season (Term 4) stays the same through Term 1, even if the player has moved up a school year.

Saturday Morning Grades (Hardball Format) - U11, U13 and U16 Girls

These grades are ideal for players with a couple of seasons of experience at U11 or softball. However, we also welcome new players and for first year players, offer 'New to Hardball' sessions to support their transition.

Training

  • Mondays starting first week of Term 4 (if not doing pre season)

  • 4.30 - 6pm

  • Onewa Domain, Northcote

Pre-season training opportunities are provided ahead of the start of the season. We appreciate that many of our girls play multiple sports and have other commitments during this period, so there is no expectation that players will attend every session. Coaches and managers will communicate specific pre-season arrangements directly with their teams.
