TAKAPUNA GIRLS - BACK TO BACK CHAMPIONS

The Takapuna Cricket Club Girls Under 14 Gold Team [pictured above] won the Auckland Future Hearts Under 14 A Grade competition for the second successive season.

This capped off another successful season for the 65 player,7 team Girls Division of the Takapuna based Club.

It is said to be the hub of Girls cricket in North Harbour offering cricket in girls only teams from 7 years of age.

The Takapuna clubs Under 14 Blue team were runners up in the Auckland Future Hearts Development Grade whilst first season Premier Grade player, Takapuna’s Roz McNeill, won the Auckland Cricket Clubs Women Player of the Year

Girls Cricket

Kiwi 5-7 yrs
Girls 5 – 7 play in mixed boys & girls grade teams using an Incrediball which is soft so that pads, gloves and helmets are unnecessary.
Games are played on Saturday mornings 8.00 am - 10.30 am

Girls 7 – 18yrs
Takapuna District Cricket Club is the home of Girls’ & Women’s Cricket in the North Harbour region.

Our Girls & Women’s Division has teams in every grade of the Auckland Cricket Association Girls Grade Competitions so we can cater for any girl 7 years of age upwards. Beginners are especially welcome and can be accommodated at any level.

Takapuna Girls teams regularly feature in end of season finals (winning more often than not) and many individual players succeed to higher playing honours from the coaching we provide.

All playing equipment is provided – helmet, pads, bats, balls, gloves plus wicket-keeping pads and gloves. We also provide each player with a team shirt and cap on loan.

Girls Grade Competitions:

Quikhit Grade – Under 11 years (uses an Incrediball like the Kiwi grade) – 8 a side
Junior Hearts – Under 12 years B Grade (1st year Hardball) – 8 a side
Junior Hearts – Under 12 years A Grade – 8 a side
Future Hearts – Under 14 years B Grade – 9 a side
Future Hearts – Under 14 years A Grade – 9 a side
Premier Youth Grade (Secondary School age grade) – 11 a side
