More of the same for the Prems and Reserves

It was the Cachopa show at Keith Hay Park on Saturday as Brad and Craig put paid to Eden Roskill's hopes of recording their first win of the season. Last week Craig cracked a massive century and this week both brothers got in on the act posting scores in the seventies to allow Takapuna to stroll to a six wicket win. It was no mean feat considering Eden Roskill had done a fine job of posting 247. Thanks to the Cachopas, and a fine guiding hand from captain Ryan Scivier (45*) at the end, the two day champions made it two in a row with room to spare. The win leaves us at the top of the table on 6 points.
Back at Onewa, after losing the toss and being sent in Takapuna batted well, posting a score of 302/9. As usual Laurie Agnew had his guns on display and used them to good effect hitting 3 sixes on his way to 77. However the main action came at the other end as captain Simon Mathewson registered his maiden Takapuna century, blazing 8 sixes in an innings of 123. In reply Eden Roskill started well but were eventually tied down by off-spiner Mark Kilpatrick who kept his sunglasses sponsors happy with 4/23 off 10 overs. The rest of the wickets were shared around as Roskill were bowled out for 177.
Takapuna 302 (S Mathewson 123, L Agnew 77) defeated Eden Roskill 177 (M Kilpatrick 4/23, M Tillett 3/42) by 125 runs.
A superb start to the season by the Premier and Reserve sides. Well done.
