Keynote speaker - Shaun Quincey
33 years after his father was the first man to successfuly row across the Tasman, Shaun became the second New Zealander to complete the journey, after a 2200km & 54 day row from NSW to 90 Mile Beach. His voyage was filled with highs and lows, rolling his boat at least twice, breaking two sets of oars and coming close to running out of fresh water. Between the capsize and hitting a whale there were many times when Shaun thought he would not complete the journey. The TDCC is indeed fortunate to have such an outstanding guest speaker.
10.30pm until 1am music and cash bar in the Takapuna DCC clubrooms
